If you like gielen but have only recently come into him then try his TE set from 2001 with safri duo, awesome work with Marco V - Simulated & beauty of silence, I love the energy gielen puts into his sets plus PVD seems to need to remake every tune so its how he wants it, I'm not saying he's bad, his tunes are ok, but for energy & entertainment Gielen is God

Well...PvD and Gielen don't really spin similar styles of trance. Gielen drops way more uplifting tunes in 120 minutes than PvD ever did. This is why I think PvD is better...his sets have a climax...they start off bangin', he drops down a really uplifting/emotional tune and then he keeps on going with something a little more progressive. Now, I'm not saying Gielen sucks, cause his 2002 TE set was great. Started off really well with Human Evolution - Human Evolution, but, PvD is just better IMO...his track selection is better, and his DJ'ing skills are better too.
Both are great DJ's though, I juse like PvD better
Having a purely uplifting set is stupid in a way, cause uplifting trance follows the same formula...builds up slowly to about 2-3 minutes, breaks down, is really calm, then builds up again...anthem comes in, everyone goes crazy. Next track. Repeat.
