Canadian killer has baby boy

Montreal - A Canadian killer convicted in the torture and deaths of two teenage girls and recently released from prison has given birth to a baby boy, a health official told media on Tuesday.
Karla Homolka's baby was born on February 5 at Montreal's St Mary's Hospital.
Homolka was released from prison in July 2005 after serving 12 years for her role in the rape and murders of two teenage girls, with her husband Paul Bernardo.
She received a reduced sentence in exchange for testimony against Bernardo, who remains in jail, but it was later revealed she misled police about her true involvement in the crimes, shown in grisly videotapes as a willing participant.
It was widely believed the now-divorced couple had other victims, including Homolka's younger sister, but they were never charged in those cases.
A parole board described Homolka in 2001 as a dangerous "psychopath".
Tim Danson, a lawyer for the families of two victims, told public broadcaster CBC the thought that Homolka has become a mother "is fundamentally repugnant to them because they know that this is the person who participated in the kidnapping and murder of their children".
"The thought that she's even free, let alone having children, is something they're having trouble coming to grips with," he said.
"She would not have thought at all about the ... future of her child."
