I need some guidance in purchasing the right stuff...
Alright,
I've been thinking about it, and I'm really interested in purchasing a drum/snare/clap/hi-hat/etc. sample pack.
I was wondering if anyone could pin-point me in the right direction, say, if I was looking for James Holden & Derek Howell style percussion.... that's if it were even possible, that is?
i think the samples of clubsound cds is a step up from ejay but you dont need them to create good drum tracks, proccesing and effecting cleaner sounds is my prefered method , but they do sound good tho !

I have some n00b question with regards to Vengeance and similar Sounds. I realize you have to user a sampler to play them but how do you know what sounds to use? Do you basically have to go through them one by one and assign them to notes in the sampler.
I realize they are organized into folder on the Cd like BASS, KICK, HATS, etc. But is there no sort of configuration file that loads standard sets of sounds and auto-assigns them accordingly?

These are not really for James Holden & Derek Howell style percussion though are they I would have thought?
Maybe two focuses less on hardstyle?
Perhaps the minimal house one by Vengeance could be better. Or the classic Uberschall techno trance essentials which is a cleaner sound

Most samplers have a preview function so you can hear the sounds before loading them in.
But yes most dont have any kind of sample presets that can load up banks ,or at least none ive brought.

I guess my next question is that once you have them loaded into the sampler of preference you can tweak the sounds and save the configuration in a bank/file for future loading. Will it remember the tweaks you applied to the sounds as well as the note associations?

depends on what program you're using, but generally...yes....
