There are some posts on houseaddict.com by ProgDJ that are the same, and pretty obvious.

Sorry to dig up old threads, but I saw a pitch from one of their guys today. As soon as I saw the name "Play it Tonight", i remembered this thread and all of the bad PR they have been generating for themselves. Anyways, they won $15,000 in financing (biz plan competition), and get to go to the nationals for a chance to win $75,000 and $250,000 loan option. The way they threw out fake stats and other bullshit made me doubt they would win, but they did, and that just goes to show their ethics.

I'm just curious how we can verify whether the stats they provided were real or fake? It seems so far like a successful venture so far with the labels they have been able to reach to resell music.

Perhaps not entirely statistics, but specific comments as to the industry, market, competitive environment, etc. For example, it was stated that clubvibes.com is where DJs hang out. Additionally, they entered the competition with a business that was about four years old, when the rules explicitly stated that no business older than one year could enter. (this latter point is being addressed by organizers at the moment)

Well, the latter point could be interesting. I do know that it was a joint effort of 2 separate entities into one about a year ago so maybe there is a loophole there. Not sure what the guidelines are.

I'm a DJ and I am on CV from time to time. Some DJs are on there so it's not entirely false. Maybe trance djs are not on there but there is a healthy amount of house DJs who use the board for their own promotions and purposes.
