More than just a history experiment, Prototype 909 focuses on
forward-thinking dance music using strictly hardware, such as 303s,
909s, 808s, ARPs, and other harsh techno machines. Disdaining most
MIDI setups, Taylor Deupree (aka Taylor 808), Dietrich Schoenemann and
Jason Szostek usually opt to compose their music on the fly, resulting
in intense acid meltdowns.

Alex Under embodies techno's new international elite. Sometimes deep,
sometimes hard and aggressive, always original. His sonic collages
combine elements of techno, trance, and house while constructing
complex rhythms taking listeners from the dance floor to higher levels
where emotion, mind, and body melt together.
Under released his first LP on the prestigious German lapel Trapez,
following quickly with "Collage" on Richie Hawtin's Plus 8 label.
These quality releases earned him the number 3 spot as Best Newcomer
