Picked up a Numark TT-1520...

Before you say it's a crap TT and get a Tech I got it for 20 bucks at a garage sale, lol. It's cool bc I've never spun vinyl and I can use it with Torq. It didn't come with any cart/needle/stylus so I'm wondering where and what you guys recommend. I'm a TT n00b.

Some very good ones like Shure Whitelabels or Ortofon Nightclubs or something of that caliber. They are awesome cartridges, and will make up for that crap of a turntable haha! (oops I said it!) They will cost you 6 times as much each! But hey, no skipping except for that lousy of a tonearm haha!

I'm just kidding Justin, but at the same time...i'm being serious. Get the best, to make up for it. I dunno if you'd be able to find another one to actually mix on them. Get something like a TT200 along side if you needed to...though those are Direct Drive and you've got belt drive tables I believe. Those are shit to mix on....so you might as well just use it for Torq or something...maybe get some vinyl just to play on it.

Actually, it IS a Direct Drive at least. But yeah, I'm ashamed ot say that I've only ever DJed on CDJs so it'll be a good learning experience. And yeah, I can use one of my Torq vinyls on it.

Oh it is direct drive, well good, cause belt drives are absolute crap for anything other than just listening to music. And that's good you can use your Torq vinyls, and also buy some vinyl records. Check out "dancerecords.com" or PM me or IM me and we can discuss if there are any records I own that you might want to buy from me. I have like 160 records, but no TT. Going to get myself one sometime this year, but i'm focusing on saving up for a new mixer....
