Sorry if this boggles your mind, but I actually have not said anything like that. One of the reasons may be that I have interacted with very few non-"whites" and thus do not feel at all qualified to generalize about all members of other races, which is (apparently) something that other people are content to do. Perhaps a racist would chime in and say that being "sheltered" like this is the only way not to form racist ideas similar to his own. But I have my doubts.

That last thread about racism annoyed me, I wanted my say.

I've grown up in a black area am I racist? Well I don't support the national front I don't go spraying graffti on the Mosque about 500 metres from my house. But I have racial banter with people Indians, Blacks providing they know me.

One thing which really gets on my fucking nerves is people always classify racists as being white. The government in the UK has been taken over by politicially correct nazis who are in every walk of life including the media.

We have people standing embassies with signs, shouting 'Allah Akbar' 'Kill the infidel crusader pig chop of his head' 'Behead british soldiers' the government let it go they don't get arrested. If I done the same outside a mosque with sings and shouting 'Kill the ragheads' 'burn down their mudhuts' I'd get arrested.

People are fairly 'lippy' and flippant about remarks, I don't think the majority of us are particularly sensitive to one another on a lot of levels (upbringing, beliefs and educations) which is further exaggerated by a comparative ignorance of other people's cultures.
It doesn't bother me with the verbal garbage is spewed out of peoples heads, but rather the people who are prepared to turn those words into action and they're the ones you do have to be very, very wary of. Out of self defence and for my own personal security I do tend to have preconceived and quite justified reactions to people who are potentially going to turn those words into something more.
I'm very well travelled and wary enough to know though that "trouble" because of who I am to someone else can wear any colour of skin. As an antagonist, no I don't go out of my way to harass anyone or vilify people.

good points were made in the previous thread, that it's the "illegal" part of illegal immigrants that most people have a problem with. A lot of us live in countries that are being crippled by such people, as well as in the uk money spent on a war in iraq etc rather than on the things that should be, ie. healthcare, education etc.

It is sadly true though that most people are racist in the uk, and why? Well people tend not to be as accepting as canada for example, if an asian moves into a street, often the other people will leave cos of not wanting to live near those people, having a huge fear of the unknown being the main cause. People don't understand each others cultures so it harbours resentment. A lot of older generations than mine are really bad at this, and it does make me feel sick. We can't expect people to integrate with us when we're not willing to let them contribute to society, but those who have, for example my dentist, a lot of doctors etc have done so really well. Shut your eyes with my dentist for example and you wouldn't know he comes from Indian parents, he shares interests with me like sports etc & people need to learn that the majority of these people are no threat.

However with the EU letting half of eastern europe in, where many people are more violent, and a lot of pakistani/kurdish/turkish people in some places, you can see where some of the misinformed generations get their feelings from. Both sides need to learn to get on but in some cases neither are willing. It's hard to hear english spoken in some places & that is a problem as it only adds to the negative stereotyping.

The immigration system in the UK is shit because they let just about wanker over here. I know of Pakistani people who refuse to speak English yet they've lived here for over 30 years. Once a family moves here the whole lot come over too. If they work and intergrate into society then it's fine by me but unfortunatly some people don't want that.

Where I'm from an area called Abington in Northampton a lot of the population are immigrants or have decended from the Carribean especially Jamaica back in the 1950's or so. They have their shops, barbers, food stalls etc and thats sound because in general their quite an easy going community. A small handfull though do let them down turning into little yardie gangsters. In general though most the black people in my area count themselves as British.

Go one mile from house you get my sisters area, it's full of different immigrants. The Polish and Lithunians are around their fine they work hard and in general their polite people. However there is a huge Pakistani community the whole area is like a mini Karachi it's like the areas been taken over. A few years back me and two friends were walking through the area minding our own business and got started on by a gang of nine Asian youths for being white, and by fuck did we give the little ****s a hiding.
