it's one of my ambitions to see the northern lights, hopefully in person. There are some flights you can take from england that last 3-4 hours and allow you to see them, although i'd rather goto some place where they were evident for a few days instead,

please do rob I've never been lucky enough to see them, the best thing i've seen is the sun setting over portugal while i was on a plane, and it was dark one side & light the other. the woman in the seat across thought i was eyeing her up lol, i was just hypnotised by the sun

You can see the Northern Lights quick regularly in the summer in my hometown... it's a great sight. Stupid me though, I never did think that there was such a thing as the Southern Lights... look really nice though.
