These are books about the dance music history and culture and basically how it grew. The House/Techno are my faves.....love those. Basically they have bios of artists and when you read the entire book, you understand the history and who was responsible for what.

I read an awesome book called Generation Extasy, don't remember the author, but it pretty much takes the whole genre from begginigs of Chicago and Detroit house thru Balearic/Ibizza period, thru Gabber and Hardcore, thru Trance, thru Jungle and D'n'B to modern dance music etc. Very informative, a lot of tracks listed in it.

yeah, "Generation: ecstasy" is awesome.. I have it, but someone borrowed from me, so I can't say for sure but I think it's by Reynolds. You also have "Energy flash" by Reynolds, pretty good.
There's also "This is not a rave" by McCaul, not bad..
I've also heard about "Ministry of Sound: the manual" don't know by who.
And..... if you're interested - "Ecstasy: dance, trance & transformation" by Nicholas something... ?

i use "Last Night A DJ Saved My Life" by Bill Brewster as a reference to the the history of the DJ the book talks about every kind of music culture that used djs (which is every kind). I read it and learned alot
