I briefly thought of coming over for Armin Only, but i'm doing Europe about a fortnight later.

See, we wouldn't have this problem if you stayed over there!

Well, I prefer uplifting. But that's just me. I simply don't understand why it needs to go faster. I don't want to have to chow a whole bunch of speed just to dance for the night.

It's possible to enjoy either without any substance, but not as many people see it like that. Both styles have their place, but don't think the newer 'hardtrance' which is basically hardstyle is a part of it, hardtrance is dumonde, shokk, flutlicht, cosmic gate, beam, dark moon, dave 202, Kai Tracid, Derb & more

i'd have said those artists you mentioned have more likeness to hardstyle than the current UKHT stuff does (i'm not so familiar with european hard trance stuff though if you were on about that). i've noticed most UKHT isn't as 'heavy' as before (like hardstyle is), but is generally faster with more energetic rolling basslines. it's easy to write hate all over it but it has its place, being fast, driving & melodic without too much bullshit

au contraire.. hard trance is MUCH easier to dance to without chemical aid. the only problem is it typically has less variation so can get tiring quicker.. although alot of 'uplifting' is going down a similar route at the moment (i seriously don't need to bring up the primary culprit again do i?)

hell i saw the aforementioned on saturday and was DESPERATE for some drugs half an hour into his set. any remote trance of energy was sucked dry by sheer monotony

Yeah, a good point, and one I know well. I guess my statement was more of a reference to going out to hear that kind of music. If I'm out, I wanna dance, but if the music is overly fast...I dunno, I guess I just prefer something slower, that I can dance to for longer. Maybe I need to work on my fitness levels some more too, but I'm getting old
