How do I do this?

I've just been watching some James Zabiela tech vids and he activates his pre-made loops by pressing one of the Hot Cue buttons.

How does he get that to work?

Its definately a loop made on the CDJ's cause you can see both the loop in/out buttons flashing while its playing.

first of all read the manual for your cdj

second of all you can easilly store cues points by defining in and out points on your cdj and a memory card. If you take the memory card with you and put it in another cdj it will work the same as when you are back home, it will recognize your cds etc.

When you press the cue buttons you have assigned to various loops it automatically starts them.

Nice one cheers - I did read my manual when I get them 12 months ago but I couldn't remember reading how to do that.

It's a new feature on the CDJ1000 mk3, so if you've got a mk2 or before I'm afraid you can't do it, although I expect there are ways of using hot cues to make setting up a loop a bit quicker (although it won't be instant so you can't do this with a deck playing or you'll plung the club into silence for a few seconds...

i.e. set up a hot cue where you want the loop to start and one where you want it to end, take note of what speed the pitch control's set to, stick in +/-100% mode with the pitch slider right down at -100% so that the deck won't play when you hit the hot cue button, trigger the 1st hot cue, hit loop in, trigger the 2nd hot cue, hit loop out, stick the deck back in the right pitch control range and the pitch slider back to the right speed and away you go... you can either then hit the reloop button at the right time to get it in time with whatever you're doing or hit the cue button to return to the start of the loop then hit play when you're ready.

I just came up with that on the spot, haven't got a CDJ1000 so hope it works

Ahh thanks for clearing that up. I thought it was weird when i saw him do it cause I was sure that I knew pretty much all that the cdj1000 could do.

And there was someone earlier telling me to read the manual...
