Review: DARUDE - THURS. MAR 22 - CAFETERIA - SOUTH BEACH
Well, I arrive there @ around 12:30 AM with a few friends of mines and we saw some DJ spinnin...but Darude wase'nt supposed to come on to about 3:00 AM...SOOO we took a totally long ass walk back to Clinton Hotel via 8 and Washington for the Frisky joint but realized it had finished....we turned around and ate pizza...passed by the Marlin @ collins and 12 for some electro/house fun...saw a few drunks...and began our voyage back towards the Cafeteria...
We arrive at around 2:50 for the end of some DJ...chill for a bit to about 2 tunes...it was sad to see no more then maybe 30 people @ a time there that night...
then the moment arrives...@ exactly 2:58 AM...Darude jumps on the deck...WOW...Darude was pretty much amazing the entire two hours...
Key Moment #1:
when he dropped the second track...
Andy Moor vs Orkidea - Year Zero
WOW...what a song...chopped vocals never sounded soo good...
so then we decided after like three tracks to move to the second floor...RIGHT NEXT TO THE MAN HIMSELF...LITERALLY...
he pretty much recognized that us three and maybe 3-4 other people we rocking out and dancing and enjoying his massive set.
KEY MOMENT #2:
When he dropped
Super8 & Tab - Needs to Feel...
my gawd i love that song...heard it earlier that day @ the Ferry instore...
he went on to play other massive tunes...he dropped a few new exclusive tracks of his...wow do they rock...he told us the were forthcoming on his new album...that should be quite sick...
KEY MOMENT #3:
Taking pics of him @ like 3 feet away, doing is thing on the decks...
Darude is an incredibly laid back guy...coolest guy...he was talking to us throughout his sets and stuff...telling us about his records and IDing tracks to us and such...
KEY MOMENT #4:
dropping
Giuseppe Ottaviani - Through Your Eyes
Darude pulled out a little flyer saying "LIFTOFF" when this tune came on...MY GAWd....the reaction from the like 20-30 folks left was good cuz this was quite the banger...loved every second of it
at around this time, its like 4:45-:50 AM...and Cafeteria is starting to pick...some security guard basically told him he was done...douche bag...
Darude clossed with another track of his...some sorta 2006-2007 remix of Sandstorm...massive way to close...
after the set we spoke for a few minutes, asked a few questions, got his card, and took some pics...we thanked him very much for rocking our night for those 2 hours...and he thanked us for making his night better...pics and such should be up soon...we said our good byes and good lucks, and we began our FUCKING WALK HOME...FUCK...tired as crap...with my feet hurting...and walking back to this room all the way by 10 and something..it was all worth it...
Overall...Darude rocked for such a small venue and he kept our spirits up...what a shame people didnt come out to this...Legend at the decks...def. a night to remember...
PICS AND STUFF COMING SOON
