I did a search on google and also on the forums here..And it appears that most soundcards for Laptops are through USB for some reason. Right now Im producing solely with Vst's and I want my laptop to be as portable as possible so having a soundcard that's apart of the laptop would be a lot better for me than having a card connected through USB. Can anyone reccomend a good internal soundcard for laptop music production? And Im wondering why anyone would want a soundcard hooked up through a USB port over having an internal soundcard?
thank you!!

Internal soundcards in laptops are not of sufficient quality for producing music. The reason people use USB/FireWire soundcards on laptops is because that's a common way of using a high quality soundcard. If it were a desktop, you'd have a PCI soundcard.

Yea, there just isn't enough space to put a decent sound card in there. External ftw!
