Is just the kick clipping or the master track?

well, the channel of the kick is clipping and that causes the master channel to clip also. It happens the same with the bass as well. I just want to know how to make effective the Multiband Compressor.

sorry, but you just need to start at an even lower volume in that case (if you entire mix clips).

start with the kick somewhere around -12dB/-10dB, should give you more than enough headroom .

If i turn the volume of the channel down then the kick doesn't sound loud enough. I want the kick to sound heavy and loud and avoid clipping. I did avoided clipping with the Multiband Compressor but I had to lower the volume of the master channel in order to have a satisfactory result. I want to know how to do that without having to lower the master channel's volume.

I changed my earlier comment.

Start working on lower volumes in general and make sure the kick stands out from the beginning .

Maybe the kick is running through various effects and one of them is pushing the kick over 0dB. Even if its turned down below 0dB afterwards, it will clip.

Anyways, you dont need much compression on your kick I guess, most kick samples are already compressed, and too heavy compression can cause some distortion either... most of the time I just use EQ to make the kick tighter, like cutting off the low end, boosting the bass and some heights.

This is a good comment to go by, but if you are still having problems use a limiter on the kick track....but its just there to squash it slightly not too much. If you use it to hard your kick is gonna sound really bouncy and shit.
