Preparing for physical memory dump? WTF damn comp!
maybe someone can help me.
Sometimes my comp just crashes and then it says
preparing for physical memory dump, then it counts to 100% and my comp restarts. (blue screen, I have win2000 server)

I get something similiar. It gives me an 0x error and says now dumping physical memory (followed by it restarting itself). Nothing Ive done will solve it. Its gotten so bad now that it does it every few minutes

well usually when a nasty error occurs, windows will dump the memory into a log-file on disk, so that a spiffy debuggin person can look at it and say -WHOHA, there's the error
then again, it might be trying to say that your memory was corrupt, I am not sure on either one, so if i am way off, please no flaming

Well have you tryed reinstalling win2k, straight over the top. Windows has a nasty habbit of just running itself into the ground. So just reinstal, and it will keep all yr settings but fix the problems. Also scan disk is quite good
Also run the reg checker just to make sure that hasnt messed up.
It maybe the fact that when windows open ans closes programs the ram that is used does not get replaced, so it all gets lost, and your system will run down. I had this problem and my motherboard was knackered. But if you have it under the insurance just take it back to the shop and let them fix it
I am a big fan of every 6 months a toal reformat and instal, gets rid of a lot of crap stored on the computer. But i wouldnt advise this

bad ram may very well be both of our problems... after reformatting, win2k ran flawlessly for 6 days, then all of a sudden went down hill for no particular reason
