What is difference between SL1200MK2 and SL1200M3D ?? Is SL1200M3D worth another $50 ??

M3Ds have a "reset" button which automatically zeros the pitch.. the Mk2 you have to put the pitch in the center.. also.. because of this.. the Mk2 has a "lock" at zero pitch.. to lock it at zero.. since the M3D has a reset button there is no lock and you can get much more accurate pitch around the zero marks.

hope i explained this well.. i am so tired i can barely see

sleep now

Besides the quartz reset button, the m3d also has a recessed power switch (some people seemed to accidently switch of the mk2 when performing tricks), a cartridge holder (so you can place keep a reserve cartridge at hand) and the dustcover now holds to the deck with magnetic hinges.

Is it worth the extra bucks? Dunno, that's up to you. I never had probs with my mk2's (not even the so called dead spot around 0%, if calibrated right there won't be a dead spot...), so I don't see why I should bother. But most people seem to prefer the reset button. It's all up to you, you can't go wrong with either of them.

Ok ok I agree, about half the m3d's I have got in my hands had the magnetic hinges, the other half didn't have any hinges at all. So I guess it will be an endless debate again (remember the 1200/1210 problem?)
