Would be really helpful if anyone could direct me to a site telling me any more about this mixer or if you have had this mixer or used it, information would be really helpful.

It's a solid install mixer, was something of a standard for a while... Carl Cox used to swear by it, until they made him his own signature model that is.

4 channels, 3 band eq and balance control on each, VU meter on each channel (albeit only 5 segment), excellent FX send/aux loop, pretty standard on/off cueing (although no cue mix), crossfade curve adjustment, line in sockets on the top of the mixer so even when installed sunk into a booth you can still come along and plug an extra whatever-you-might-need into it, sounds good, built like a brick... what more could you want?

Basically a very solid mixer, perfect for club installs but pretty good for home use too - as I say the main drawback is that it doesn't have cue mix (i.e. every channel is either in your headphones or it isn't), but mixing like that is something you should really get used to if you're not already. Obviously it hasn't got any onboard effects, but the fx send/aux system is excellent so it's really easy to hook up an EFX or whatever and really make the most of it.

If i could pick up one for 200 quid would you suggest I did so? I'm not sure how much this used to retail for?

if you can hold out for pmc-55 i would recommend that instead.

the pmc-55 has more cut, but less boost. i think it was -24/+6.

i don't know how much 200 quid is, but if it's something like 2-3 hundred USD, i'd probably be all over it.

also, a note of caution... i belive the mixers that carry the "a" designation, are cheaper/lower build quality versions of the OG version of the mixer.

i have not had the chance to compare my pmc-55 against a pmc-50a.

but there is a big difference in sound between the pmc-27mk2, and the pmc-270a, and pcv-275. the pmc-27mk2 slaughters both of these knock offs in the sound quality department.
