looks like soundforge has changed a lot since i last used it back in the 90's.

i like how you can work multiple tracks now... that gives me an idea.

will it work like a true vst host?

i was thinking about picking up a tc powercore. will that work inside of soundforge the same way it would work inside of sonar, or cubase?

IMO Audition pisses all over Soundforge but this IS a new version, so they might have grown up since 7.0.

wavelab Rocks by the way. it can do everything, form simple editing, to multìtrack "audio montages" and direct CD burning and label design. it also integrates in cubase very well (surprise). I find it more intuitive than audition, very similar to soundforge in terms of use but 3 found wavelab could just do a lot more. it also doesn't hog your pc resources, has some other neat unique editing functions, allows very simple ripping of tracks from cd's (+ CD project organization) as well as being one of the few really advanced function batch converters. I was a soundforge user and have never looked back....until soundforge 9 - let's see if it matches up then.....

Yeah... WaveLab is where it's at. Especially with the VST support. I'll have to check out SF9 though, since it's what I use, simply because it's what's available (8.0).

Sound Forge has VST support.

Once again. This all comes back to what you like. Not what is "better" or worse. Both programs will do what you want them to.

I like Wavelab. I like Sound Forge.
