Basically I've been purchasing vinyl for some time (I'm learning how to DJ), and now I have around a dozen records. However, there are only 3-4 that I REALLY like, and would be willing to include in a mixtape or a demo CD! Everything else just loses its appeal and becomes boring to me. I no longer understand why I bought all those other records.
I already have more than enough records to make a mix CD, but because so few of them are really GOOD songs, I just lose my enthusiasm, and don't feel like making a focused effort toward recording a full-length mix...
Is this just a phase that everybody goes through, or am I just not motivated?

Why do you think its called the weekly fix?
Sell the old ones, buy new ones.

i think you're just sick of them because think about it...every time you spin you're limited to those 12 or so vinyls
i feel that way about so many of my records, so i don't play them for a couple months, go back and play them and i am in love with them again

That record will sound different when mixed into 2 other songs and in the middle of a mix you're listening to and not playing. Make the mix with as many as you can and you'll see.

Yeap, i been there... I sold a few records but those were just too bad... thats what happens at the beginning you buy records which later you'd ask yourself why'd u get them. The important thing is keep buying new ones so you're not bored.

The problem is that because you listen to them soooo much you get bored with them because you know what to expect. The only way to solve this problem is to continually buy new records Thats the only thing that keeps this hobby interesting. But do not get rid of those old records, someday you will be itching to hear that old track once again and it will put a smile back on your face
