techtrance as it was is pretty much dead. When hardtrance became a dirty word, everyone who produced that coined the phrase, not helped by stuff like tiesto - traffic. techtrance in it's purest form needs you to look for stuff from oliver lieb, marco v, filterheadz in cases (eg mi casa es su casa & sunshine) and other things like sol - quantensprung

If you're trying to say that Hard Trance and Tech-Trance are the same thing, I think you're a bit misguided there.

I'm saying that if you go by the earlier definitions, there was way more techno influence than trance, lieb, klitzing & so on always included both elements but the trance was a little bit in the background. When Hardtrance became a dirty word, people began expanding techtrance to cover their tunes. Yeah some of it still is a bit techy but a lot is just harder trance with the odd influence of tech.
