I'm going through the process of converting all my WAV mixes into MP3 to put on my new site and was wondering what quality download people preferred.
Personally, if given the choice I'd go for 320 everytime but I know that some people might not have the connection speed to wait for the extra download time required.
Just do both if you can.
If not I would say 192 because many people don't have the time or bandwidth.
Towards the end of each month the size of a mix may determine whether I download it or not since my household seems to go over the cap every month .

320! if they can't handle the download, they need to get into the 21st century
about 10 years ago 128k was "the best"...it's not the best anymore...so use the highest bit rate you can
you don't hear much of a difference making the jump from 192 to 320, at least not for the purposes of posting a mix, they're not going to be listening to them on a quality sound rig, most likely headphones and car stereos
Whats the point of recording and then rendering the mix in 320kb...
192kb is more than enough, you're going to be listening to the mix at home on monitors/headphones/earphones in your iPod and you most likely will not notice any difference...
It's just a waste of space on your server.

I voted for 320 kbs mp3
I agree with most mixes are anywhere from 100 - 120 MB. It's been like that for years. I remember when I was on Dialup, it would take me 2 hours to download a 100 MB mix.
Can't say how many people are downloading @ 5 kb anymore but, usually a file of that size equals to a over an hours worth of music.
You can always make a 320 kbs, 128 kbs mp3 file for those that are complaining about it taking too long to download.
I generally drop anywhere from 225 - 320 kbs mp3 mix, and a 96 kbs WMA mix for those still on dial up.
