which b52 system were you looking at? the 700 watt or the 1200 watt?

from my experience, i used to work at guitar center and had these guys up...they're not that bad. they're not the clearest or best pa system, but for the price you really can't go wrong. with the 700watt system you can probably throw a small party...around 50-75 people. if you get the 1200 watt one, your looking in the hundreds. they do get loud regardless of which system you get and you'll be happy.

just be warned that they're not going to be some jbl prx speakers...obviously.

if $$$ isnt an option for you and your set on a pa system....check out the prx series...those bad boys sound nice.

Well unfortunately, in my situation, money is an issue. I'm not looking to spend more than $1500 and so I'm looking for a package which will do me good. Do you have anything else you would recommend other than the B-52 Matrix 1200 watt package withing the price range?

check out the jbl eon's...or even the mackie srm's. you can probably get yourself maybe the 8's for 1500. i can't remember how much the cost is though. if you go to guitar center, you can always haggle your way down.
