Why is Everyone So Bitter Here?

I'm new to producing trance, so I've been just randomly reading threads about production issues before I get started. How come the people on this forum seem to have a tendency to flame those who have novice issues? Granted, sarcastic comments are funny every now and then, but with the extent they are being used it's borderline offensive. I mean you have to start somewhere and where as others do their own research others may prefer to ask questions. I just think it'd be more conducive if we all didn't create this condescending oh-i'm-pro atmosphere. If it's a stupid question, don't answer it. Just my ideas.

Could be because of 6 reasons..

1) They see the same stupid questions everyday (99.9% of noob questions are answered in the tutorial master list)
2) It took them a long time to get where they are, know what they know, and no one was there to help them out so they feel helping others is a crime against them selves.
3) They’re afraid of competition (for what ever reason).
4) They were treated like shit when they first started so they feel its only fare to follow the tradition.
5) They are frustrated do to their failure in trying to become a decent producer. So they take it on others..
6) They truly enjoy making fun of others..

In any case I don’t see a point in being rude as well..if you don’t like what you see, simply don’t post in that thread. (they’ll get the point if no one posts in their thread)

most of the questions here are found in manuals... the fact that people would rather ask 'how do i do a mashup in ableton' is a joke.

I think it's coz a lot of people here would like to pretend they are "pros" when in fact they are pimply faced pubescent little kids with one hand on their knob at all times. They think by rubbishing people it makes them look 133t.

I'd also like to add that I believe that this is the reason that this forum seems to be slowing down. It used to be a fairly busy little place, where people could ask questions without the fear of being ridiculed. I think that your attitude towards "noobs" is actualy killing this site. If you realy are tranceaddicts you should embrace newbies and help em out a bit. Who knows, they may turn out to be the next SVD or PVD. Or just keep on giving all the noobs shit, they will leave, and you can all hang out with your "pro" producer friends. Yes there are tutorials, but if you have a look at em, the list hasnt realy changed at all in the last 3 yrs. That is a sign of a stagnant self consuming community.
If you wanna see how a production community should realy look, go check out dogsonacid.com "the grid". Now I dont even like drum and bass (much) but i think that i may have learnt more from that site than here, simply coz they dont flame noobs (much) and they dont mind answering questions.
BTW are there any other trance related production forums that i should be aware of, coz i have a feeling that alot of people who used to post here have jumped ship.

Not everyone here is bitter, of course. Most of us aren't. The ones here that are bitter just stand out more, because they make a lot of noise. Why are they mean and bitter? Like already said here, maybe they are frustrated that they are not as successful as they'd like to be, so they take their frustrations out on anyone they can. Noobs are an easy target. This kind of behavior always comes from the fact that they feel inadequate or insecure in some way, you can bet on it. Perhaps also some of them are just mean and nasty by nature, bad apples to the core. The internet seems to be full of that kind.

Musicians related forums, in general, tend to attract a bad element. This one is actually pretty friendly and helpfull compared to some of the guitar forums I used to visit. Enjoy it Just ingore any of the negativity here. There is an ignore user feature here, so if you find someone that never has anything productive to say, use it.

I think trance.nu has a production forum, but it never hooked me. Never seemed as technical.

The internet is where you're 6'8", have a $250k salary, and you drive a Bimmer, not the '86 Toyota Tercel sitting in your assigned parking spot. But, really... seems a lot of people use it is a front to feel big. Other times a tounge-in-cheek comment can be taken as hostile, since you can't convey emotion as easily. Just my 2 cents on that.

I made a rather cruel comment recently that I re-replied to with something constructive, but I was cranky last night, got stood up. Biotch.
