try the electric sheep...it wont go to your music but will blow your mind for sure. and it's an open source project created by a vj

Winamp does it (www.winamp.com) - just press CTRL+L then type 'linein://', start visualisations and it'll apply the sound coming into your line in to them.

I don't know if it works with all visualisations or just some - it definitely works with Milk Drop, which I've got a feeling might come with Winamp now.
