Kosmas Efstratiou, the multitalented Greek better known as Kosmas Epsilon, is slightly becoming one of the top league players in dance industry. With his tracks and remixes constantly finding its way into the boxes of respected dj’s as Sasha, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo amongst others, Kosmas has been making a name for himself for quite some years now. Who hasn’t heard his bootleg remix of FC Kahuna’s “Hayling” that made its way onto the critically acclaimed Balance 005 by James Holden? Or beauties like “All is Heaven” and “Innocent Thoughts”. With Kosmas Epsilon as a producer you just know you’re getting tracks full of lovely melodies and mad driving basslines that are sure to rock the dancefloor.

With his remix for Medway & Sven Hauck – Heliopause Kosmas Epsilon proved to be a great partner for Groove Collection Records with his remix ending up as top selling track for the 3Beat Digital download store in its first week. And now he’s there again with his own production “Paranoid”. Originally featured on the mix compilation Addicted vol. 1 on Platipus “Paranoid” finally sees a full release. A strong kick, throbbing bassline, energetic synth lines and trademark subtle melodies give so much energy it’s just impossible to stand still. Kosmas Epsilon yet again knows how to build a very strong peaktime monster and easily maintains his high standard of quality productions.

Remix duties come from fellow countrymen Elias Tzikas and Elias Kazais with dutchies Eelke Kleijn and the Tekhead duo to complete the five track release. Elias Tzikas turns the energetic original into a techy, deep and slumbering track with sudden moments of synths swelling to full effect. An interesting version that cleverly builds up tension and keeps the heads nodding and the feet moving.

Eelke Kleijn is on a booming mission with almost all of his recent productions and remixes ending up in the top jocks’ cd wallets, but most importantly on respectable compilation series carrying the names of Global Underground and Renaissance. The latter is exactly the case with Eelke’s take on “Paranoid” being featured on Hernan Cattaneo’s newest Renaissance release called Sequential Vol. 2. It’s not hard to understand why Cattaneo wanted this track on his compilation as Eelke creates the ultimate groove and shows us the true meaning of progressive house. Funkyness and groovyness together with some deeper elements take care of the real music lover.

Third Greek on this release, Elias Kazais, takes the techiest route of all and delivers a more stripped down version with a gritty bassline, spacey sounds and an unquestionable drive. The two clever breaks are destined to create a “hands in the air” moment before getting back to business and let the bassline/kick combination do the rest.

Last on the list, but certainly not the least are Tekhead. Better known as Chane and Ralphi these two Dutch producers from Amsterdam may not have an extensive list of productions and remixes, but show with their remix that their future may very well lie in production. Creating a warm and deep vibe while not losing energy Tekhead produces a tight production with great ear for detail. The addition of an alternative melodie surely does the trick and leaves the listener with a big smile on his face.
