I'm curious to know what methods other TAs use to hear the latest and greatest tracks before their friends do. The reason I'm asking is mainly because I really don't have a method or a system and would like some advice or hints on maybe websites or places one visits that have say for example the latest trance vinyl to sample. The thing that always amazes me is no matter how much new music I try to get my hands on, there is that much more that I have never even heard of. One way I have found many great songs is by looking at fellow TAs signatures. Thanks for any input.

Read trance magazines, check other trance websites (trance.nu, ivibes.nu), check out lots of livesets and get their tracklistings, hang out in the TA chat room (people usually say what their listening to). ...hope this helps!

I listen to lots of livesets and browse www vinyl stores.

Comb these threads, check the web sites of big DJs (those who have websites) for their playlists, check the newest releases at big "cutting edge" record shops (only-djs.com, dancegrooves.com, etc.)

read alot of posts.

check out magz, mixmag, muzik, or just hang out online and read reviews. I mostly just go by word of mouth.

read forums. listen to lots of live sets. also i get emails from memrecords and listen to lots of samples from there to find some nice tunes.. check out some playlists online like Armin Van Buuren's and such..

My way of finding new cool songs is, get a source for some random songs you've never heard (like, a magazine or a website forum or something) then when you find one you like, this gets to be the starting point for your search. You go to audiogalaxy then, and search for some more songs by the artist...you may like one of them, which happens to be remixed by a different person. You get that different person's stuff next, find it's all fantastic, and then the whole cycle starts again and soon you find your harddrive has exploded because you download too many goddam mp3s... hope this helps...
