CD Cases ?

I was wondering what do you guys use to store your cds ? I saw some people using roadcases and others using binders such as the one from ultimate-dj-gear. Since I'm getting more and more cds, I need to get something to store them. I like roadcases, but expensive. I'm looking for a solution that I can easily resetup. What I mean by resetup is that if I got 120cds in a binder, and I burn an Armin Van Buuren cd, since I want to order my cds by alphabetical order, I don't want to switch from 1 position all my cds after Armin. You see what I mean ? It's late and I don't know if I explain it correctly, but with roadcases, you don't have to reorder stuff like that since it uses small pockets.

Anyway, I was just wondering what are you guys using to store your cds and on the go ?

Neo

Yes. I like high quality, durable cases with well designed sleeves and good backing material in them so my cds aren't damaged. These aren't just cds, they are the music you're spinning. Taking care of them is a worthwhile investment.

I like case logic, but theres another neat one on the market with al double sleeves i like the look of but dont remember the name of.

Sounds like you need a case with a snapping ring binder mechanism to make rearranging much easier. Seen loads on eBay

honestly...its a cd that you can burn, and reburn whenever you want. its not like a record that you have to spend a whole chunk of time and $$$ to get again if it gets all screwed up.

Careful with the rings, sometimes they suck and the pages come out and get annoying.

I don't know about you, but I play out a fair bit. I need my CDs in top condition NOW, not tomorrow when I reburn the CD.

the way i look at it is that if the cd is clean...you don't have to worry. i just check to make sure there arent any scratches, blemishes, etc...

even if you spin out on a regular basis...i can't imagine that you dont have 5-10 minutes everyday to reburn a cd that you have either on a computer, or backed up on a disk somewhere. im not jumping to conclusions about your schedule, but its as simple as not being on TA for a little bit

to each his own

Solution; don't play armin van boring

Seriousely though, just get a top quality binder and leave a few spaces open if you dont want to rearrange the whole thing every time.

Road Case ALL THE WAY!

Hey everyone just reading through the forums, picking up tips and tricks wherever I go. Came across this one and was curious to read what people think about transporting and protecting their investments.

Personally, I am going to have to go with Allied Nations on this. It's really not about whether it's CDs or records or tapes, it's about it being your art. This is what you play. Why not protect it with everything in your means? I guarantee you that you'll slack off, and it will be your favorite disc that gets screwed up or something. If you want them protected, go with a case.

Peace of mind, protection, there are a few reasons to keep your stuff protected. Another of them being that you never have any idea who the hell is going to show up in that booth. I witnessed an incident where I'm the booth coming off a set and new dude was coming in. With the set change, some people took their breathers. Well this one dude, drunk high or whatever, but a regular I guess, since he was allowed to approach the booth, was so spent that he decided that he needed to set down right then and there...RIGHT ON THE DUDE'S MUSIC BAG! I don't know if anything got damaged but just the thought of it gave me the chills.

The comment was made that one can simply reburn the stuff. That is likely true however, in my case, I do heavy editing and prep on every CD I have, and so I have much time invested in them. I sure don't want to have to go back and burn them again, if I can avoid it (of course I do make backups, just in case). Maybe you don't have backups of any one particular CD. If you can easily retrieve the lost music or don't do any work on it, then maybe buying a professional case isn't necessary. My point is this, if you can protect your stuff as best you can, and you consider it valuable enough, by all means, spend the money and get something that can withstand the unforeseen. Some patron spilling a drink, someone drops something, a jackass doesn't look to see where he's sitting. My music is an investment of time, energy, effort, and whatnot. I'd be pissed beyond measure if something happened to them and it could have been avoided by my spending some money.

So just take some time to think about it all. How important is your music? How upset would you be if something happened and you lost some, and make your decision accordingly.

Peace out guys.

Dude, case logic is shit, bad quality and the holders itself is glued on. If you don't mind the price and want good quality CD binders get the slappa:

http://www.slappa.com/site/graphite-160-cd-case.html

This is the one I have, browse the site to see other stuff.

What's good about this one is that the pockets are actually sewn in, the zipper on the outside and the handle feels sturdy not crappy. and there's a mesh pocket on the side of the bag that comes with cd cloth cleaner and you can put the paper tracklisting in it.

No, I quite like caselogic and have had 2 case logic binders which I have used and abused over the last 4 ish years and they are still great.

Sure, they probably aren't the best, but they definitely aren't shit. My own personal experience with them proves otherwise.
