What program best for creating music videos?

I have some tunes and I want to add my own video clips to it. What program is best for producing music videos? I would like to know what some basics are and also what some more complex programs are.

Thanks

  • Adobe Premiere (works on macs)
  • iMovie
  • Final Cut Pro
  • Onyx (visualization tool, you might be able to record to a new file)
  • Resolume (another viz program, might be able to send to file)
  • mute vj (OSX alpha version if you contact them)

Hey there, for music videos I recommend Sony Vegas - very very powerful software. A lot of music producers seem to like and/or know how to use Sony Soundforge and the interface to using those two Sony products are pretty similar. The similarity will help especially if you're knew to video production.

Of course this all depends on whether you've used Soundforge before. If you haven't then I recommend Adobe Premiere. The learning curve isn't as steep as Vegas and in some ways it's a lot more...how you say...artistic?

Edit. Sorry didn't know you were looking for Mac compatible products. I have Vegas 5.0 at work and I could've swore it works with Macs. The newest version is 7.0 and is apparently Windows only.
