Trying to justify these differences by classifying people as being part of different "races" is purely artificial.

Yup, pretty much spot-on.

Not only that, but we do it on every level of our lives. We believe ourselves to be the superior beings on the planet, no matter the context, when in fact there are species that have been evolving for billions of years longer than us and have mastered a lot of the effects of survival in ways that we can't even fathom, because we can't necessarily scientifically discern it yet.
