What might have been better, is if they'd agreed to extend the defence system over Russia.

But this is just another idiotic thing from the Bush administration. Another Cold War arms race. Great. But I s'pose he's got to protect America from Iraq's WMDs...

Yes, I read this and wanted to post it but you guys beat me to it. Its true. And yes, Russia would totally accept being IN this shield - I would - but USA has other plans, and they dont include Russia. So its obvious Russia is worried the shield is built against it. There are so many easier ways to stop the Iranian threat like bombing the Busher plant or even convincing Russians to drop the nuclear plant deal thing. USA is so self-determined as usual to do what it wants without consulting even the average people of the lands who will bear the brunt of being the unlucky recipients of these missile bases.
