Sound card Advice needed

Hey Everyone I wanna get an external Sound card and I really need some advice here.
I chose two products because I read about them in many threads and people were very happy from using them and they are:

[1] http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_...eSolo-main.html
[2] http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_...leUSB-main.html

So my question is what is basically what is the difference between usb and fire wire, i mean whats the difference from the production point of you
And please if you can recommend any other products in the same price range it would be nice
thanks in advance
Advance

If you had the choice between Firewire and USB go with Firewire if you want the lowest latancies possible. Firewire is faster than USB.

Echo AudioFire 4s are a good option. Presonus Fireboxes are ok too, but the ADC/DAC isn't as good and possibly the drivers too. The preamps might be better on the Presonuses though.

Presonus are noisy. It's too bad that the Ultralite is spotty in the stability department... your best bet is probably the Echo stuff. I'm not a huge fan of that either but options are limited in that price range.

ehh i've owned many echo products and my ultralite is 100 times better than theirs... plus motu is simply the best for tech support and driver updates.

i love my ultralite,i can't see a better card for a better price
