REVIEW: Cedric Gervais at Tentation
Wow, very fun night! I have to say I had no idea what to expect from one of my favorite producers in a dj set.
We got there around 9:30, only to be first in line and from what the staff told me, they were still setting up, I really like how nice and professional this staff is. Then I see a familiar face in the distance, could it be? YES! DJ R-man! Great seeing you man
By 9:50 we were inside and Boris was already throwing down some nice beats. About 20 minutes after I ran into DJ D-cup (sorry but thats the only name I know you by :P). Couple tracks I remember Portishead - Roads (Sultan & the Greek remix), Cosmic Gate - Should have known (wippenberg)...D-cup and I had inverse reactions to that song . There was one track about 15 minutes before Cedric got on that Boris dropped that made the place explode including me! Really good set overall, mixing was not the best but the energy was there. Desiree was doing her amazing moves! Always great to see someone with so much talent expressing themselves for the love the music . I didn't see Drew? Vacation?
Cedric gets on and rips the place a new A-hole, his first track just had the cleanest crispest kick that hit straight to your chest! Wow! He started the set off so well, I was really hoping to hear some of his productions later on. I think it was then I ran into Jesse from Moda, good to see you man! Well as the night went on, the set got more and more mellow. Also, I REALLY hated the track choices toward the middle/end of his set that have these ANNOYING breakdowns, were it literally goes silent, GAH just kills the energy. Oh well, guess I'll keep spinning his productions if he doesnt hehe. On the way out I ran into JC, exchanged some words and now I might be coming up to vanguard on saturday hehe. Overall a great night, I love tentation! Good to see everyone!
