TOTY 2007: 1st Half Nomination Thread (Ends June 22nd)
Hello fellow TAs. We have reached that point in the year where your participation is needed to select the 1st half of tracks that will compete in our annual Trance Addict Track Of The Year contest. This voting system will give tracks from the first half of the year equal consideration to those from the latter half.
The search for our 2007 TOTY will go as follows:
1st Half of 2007
The first nomination period will start June 1, 2007 and end on June 22, 2007 (three weeks).
Everyone is instructed to vote for their top 10 tracks from the first half of this year. Make sure these tracks were released within this time period (tracks released in December are deemed borderline and are acceptable nominations). If you are afraid of selecting something that was released in June, but you feel won’t receive the attention, thus votes, that it would say in the 2nd half of the year, vote for it anyways. You have plenty of votes and you can always vote for that borderline track again in the 2nd nomination period.
Nominations that have various remixes will be considered one song. For example, if someone votes for Elevation - Blinding Truth (Original Mix) and someone else votes for Elevation - Blinding Truth (4AM Dub Mix) these tracks will be considered the same one.
Please clearly define your order of preference as these votes will be weighted to determine the most popular tracks. Please follow this pattern:
1 Artist – Song
2 Artist – Song
3 Artist – Song
4 Artist - Song
5 Artist – Song
6 Artist – Song
7 Artist – Song
8 Artist - Song
9 Artist - Song
10 Artist - Song
If you fail to clearly indicate your order of preference then it will be assumed that the first track is your first choice, the second track is your second, and so on and so forth.
The point system goes as follows:
1st selection = 10 points, 2nd = 9, 3rd = 8, 4th = 7, 5th = 6, 6th = 5, 7th = 4, 8th = 3, 9th = 2, and 10th = 1.
The 20 tracks with the most points after the end of this nomination period will be locked in and will represent the 1st half of 2007 in January’s Polls. Please vote only once. You can change your selections by editing your original post up till the lock date. The 2nd half nomination period will commence December 1, 2007 with polls opening up right after this other three week nomination period. This year's polling system will be identical to the one Coup used in 2004. Please only post nominations in this thread.
