What's your Mp3 player?

I'm looking to get one .. nothing fancy just 2-4GB that is compact and sleek. I don't want an iPod. Right now I'm considering SanDisk or Samsung.

If anyone owns these, how are they?

Sorry, if there has already been a thread like this.. I wasn't able to find one though

I have a IPOD NANO 1 GB , the battery life on it sucks. If i was given a choice out of those two i would have to say samsung because i like their products. I would also check battery life on both.

Whatever you do, do NOT get a Sandisk Sansa. My sister got one, within 2 weeks it stopped working (freezing and 'updating database error').

She returned it, and got another one. Same problem - so she tried a THIRD one (shipped in from a different store to avoid what might have been a problem batch). This one didn't even get around to being loaded up with mp3s.

Tamiko also got a Sansa(before my sister's 1st one started having problems) and it had the same database error. Took it back, got a 2nd one and that one lasted an award winning month and a half before it died.

I just picked up a MPIO Titan. 2 gigs, plays video/mp3/wma etc etc. No interface software needed, just drag and drop (unless its video, you need to convert it to .MTV format - but the convert software comes with the player.

I havn't had it long enough to judge the battery life yet, but it can't be worse that an ipod. And its flash memory, so if I drop it im not totally doomed like I would be with a hard-disk player

I have heard good things about Creative but I'm not crazy about their appearance - all plastic. I want something sleeker.

Yup Sanddisk sucks. My sister, and 3 cousins all bought them on the same day. All 4 froze within 2 months.

When I was searching for my mp3 player, I found CNET to be really useful:

I have a Creative slim. It is nice. I also have a Creative MuVo Tx fm, which only holds 128mb. I take it with me on the bus.

P.S. A lot of phones have that storage capacity nowadays, so maybe combining a phone and an mp3 player is something worth considering?

I wouldn't write off the iPod's right away. They are a great machine!

I recently got the 80gb iPod and absolutely love it! The battery live is amazing..i think its like 24 hours of music / 6 hours of video. I would definitely buy another if I needed to.

Here's a thread i made on what music devices do people use to listen to their music..there might be some players in here that you can look at
