STEVE PORTER finally touches down back in NYC after a whirlwind global DJ tour to celebrate his official NYC PORTERHOUSE Vol.2 (2xCD LP) album release party, along with his birthday extravaganza at award-winning club Sullivan Room on Saturday, June 30th with the cream of new homegrown talent Eli Wilkie and Bons.
Steve Porter's second volume of his mix compilation series 'PORTERHOUSE 2' compiles a staggering 57 club tracks that are mixed and mutated together on 2xCDs in his unrivaled genre defying, pulsating, energetic style. Porter’s mastery of programming and polished blue streak mixing style is a roller coaster journey, shaped and re-edited into a spine-tingling hi-octane double-disc extravaganza..
“Porterhouse Vol. 2” also merges Steve Porter’s DJing and production style, featuring 14 of his own original tracks and remixes, further blurring the distinction between DJ and producer into one completely compelling musical maestro. With this album Boston’s finest NYC resident raises the bar once more with two discs of pure party exhilaration. The secret lies in Porter’s ability to cut to the chase, filleting the prime essence of each track and moving on (akin to a funky house Jeff Mills or Carl Cox, if that’s possible), which means there’s absolutely no room for boredom. With a track selection that includes contributions by Paul Rincon, Golden Girls, Slacker, Soul Of Man, Sucker DJs, Way Out West, Plump DJs, Richard F, Max Graham, Judge Jules, and Bassbin Twins, the original Porterhouse music philosophy of "music with no boundaries" is adhered to with strong conviction. With so many mix compilations on the market today, Steve Porter is able to stand out by utilising a wide array of tracks through what he considers the four essential food groups of dance music - breaks, house, techno, and trance.
