Dad's back from iraq

So my dad just called me from texas to tell me he's finally back from Iraq. It must be so surreal to be shot at, especially with mortars every few days, not knowing where the round is gonna hit. I'm so glad he's back, this war is should never have been undertaken, so it's good my own kin aren't fighting in it anymore.

he should consider himself lucky. Many don't get to come home.

Glad to know he's back dude. Was he deployed for the extended 18 months period ? I hope he doesn't have to go back, but what is the minimum stay at home before his unit may be ordered back ?

He's sent me Iraqi dinars from Saddam's government. They might be worth something for posterity like in 100 years.

I got an arab white robe with that hood with the black ring around it. Dunno if I'll ever wear it. I asked him to get me some Iraqi soil, but I dunno if he got it.

I believe he spent 16 months doing work in Baghdad and Kuwait, using only a helocopter. He isn't tied to a unit. He is more like a diplomat working on negociation with other nation's military. I've gotten a couple flags from Israel and Japan from officers coming to washington dc pentagon.
