i remember some years back going to work and half way there we were asked to step off the train and wait for the next train that arrived like an hour later, so when I finally got off that train station I was sweating so much that I ended up buying a new shirt.

i was mad close to doing that since H&M is right across the st from my job then i thought, oh how foolish I can just sit and dry out in this crazy AC they got going on now. They OD on AC at work, I gots a jacket on right now lol but thats prolly cuz I dried out and im cold now...
I just hate the fact that the MTA does the fair hike then the whole strike thing and all of this, yet the actualy equipment is so outdated that we can't even have functioning AC. I don't know, I just think it's really unfortunate for NYC to be such a big public transport city that our subway system is still old school...where the hell is our money going? I want computerized train systems, air conditioned stations, LCD TVs with ads, you know nice shit and we don't get that...i guess thats NYC got live it to know it

they are building a new line and they did a bunch of repairs but in the long run who cares about upgrading the old when it still runs. lols.

i'd take the that same position when they want a fair hike? why pay more when what i'm paying is doing just fine...be it that if they think the same about upgrading yea?
cuz honestly, it don't seem like shit's been upgraded...
remember when tokens were 1.25, and children were .75, bus's and trains...and we thought 1.50 was a jump, now $2 for what? for them to put some shit designer tile in areas like NYU? I'm pretty heated at that

For the most part the system is efficient. What they need to do is install at least fans in some of the stations. The fulton 4 stop being my choice. It gets hot as balls down there.
$2 is bad....on the SF subway you pay different prices depending on which station you go to. Imagine if it was like that for NYC. Paying ten dollars to go from downtown BK to yankees stadium. You'd be more heated if that was the case.

Yea but there is nothing worse then seeing 5 trains go in the other direction and you haven't seen one yet coming for you and don't even get me started on Train service on the weekends. Why if I live right next to the 4 train do I have to take the R or the ACE to transfer somewhere to get to the 4 to ge to Yankee Stadium
My favorite though is taking the 1 train shuttle bus to the LOCAL 2 train to take to 135 to get onto the 4 train. I have walked more on the weekends to get places then take the train.
Brian I feel you 10000000% on this. 50% increase on fairs last time and the trains are from 1920, WTF!!!!

in short, i'd ride my bike for those short rides, which makes those long hauls all the more worthy and lets be realistic, $10 from BK to BX, maybe $5 isn't such a bad idea but $10, what is this the LIRR cuz if it WAS...then I can say yea $10 from BK to BX is worth it..but it's not.
whether its more efficient or not, pay more or not, there needs to be some real high-tech advancements for such a booming city as NY and at the very least some decent ventilation for brick city and cars that have operating AC units made to be a REQUIREMENT for them to leave the yard and be active and running during the summer.
I'm not saying sacrifice service for comfort, but if the AC unit was treated as high priority as say the brakes(during the summer), then hell yea I think the quality and maintence of our equipment would be much better upkept.
