Well, it is true that the TR6 were the next version of the PS6, but I have no idea what kind of changes they may have made to the TR6 line to make them differ from the PS6.
I know that the PS6 actually have 6.5 inch cones, but in my experience, the PS6 excel at the mid-range, not the low end. My mixes usually sound a bit mid-heavy on the PS6's, but that's OK because I know them well enough to be able to anticipate how they will sound on other systems. On my monitors if my mix sounds a bit to "mid-y" then I know they'll sound balanced on other systems, particularly consumer-grade systems.
Unfortunately I do not have the ability to make a side by side comparison of the two monitors, so I'll just have to take people's word on the TR6 being not as good as the PS6. I am certainly not in a position to make that judgement myself. Personally I'm very happy with my PS6.
