Wed 11th Radioactivity 03 featuring - Sandrien (Dualblock) and Tundra (Manual Music)

Sandrien

Sandrien started DJ-ing at the age of 21 after getting inspired by the drive of electronic music. The first time she played her favorite records to an audience, she got such an energy boost that she was hooked from that moment on. One of Sandrien's many DJ-talents is to pick just the right tracks and grooves to match the atmosphere. She combines many styles varying from minimal, acid, electro and (deep) techno. Besides for her deep sets, Sandrien is well-known for her enthusiastic appearance.

Sandrien has played at mayor dance festivals in Holland like Dance Valley, Innercity, Mystery Land, 5 Days Off, Awakenings festival VIP area, Citysounds, Eurosonic and Rockit festival. She is resident at the MAD parties, Vreemd @ Sugar Factory, Acid Nouveau and Full Spectrum parties across the country. Besides that she also spins at several big or smaller minimal, acid, electro and techno parties throughout Holland. Her international career is taking off after having played several times in clubs in Germany and Barcelona.

Besides playing Sandrien is also busy organizing her own parties titled MAD @ the Kring and @ Club 11 (with guest DJ's like Acid Maria, Bruno pronsato, Jackmate), together with Carlos Valdes. In 2005 Sandrien played at the Border Community parties (James Holden's label) at Panama Amsterdam, with DJs and producers like James Holden, Superpitcher, Nathan Fake, Petter and Thomas Andersson. During Sonar 2005 in Barcelona she played at Club 13 and Les fatales in Pigalles. In 2006 Sandrien played at Fellini Club Barcelona . At the moment Sandrien is busy producing with Wouter Hisschemoller (Eona) in the formation Amsterdam Assholes, with whom she also cohosts the Amsterdam dance radio show Radio Activity, together with Jaco every Sunday on 106.8 FM. Her future plans contain starting her own record label.

Tundra

Tundra, aka Jonathan Jansen, is 21 years old and lives in Leusden, The Netherlands.

After 3 years of producing and deejaying across the country, the fruits of labour are starting to grow, resulting in 3 releases for 2007, two on Rotterdam-based Manual Music, and one on a forthcoming new Dutch label.

Also having a live-act, combining deep tech-house, progressive, and glitchy techno is giving Tundra gigs in all of Holland's biggest techno-temples, such as Doornroosje, Sugar Factory and Ekko. Tundra is currently studying Sound Design & Composition at the Utrecht School of Music & Technology, and this supplies the knowledge of creating his own unique sound and production methods.

The scientist cannot capture the whole cosmos in thought. In his mind he makes a kind of microcosm, which we see as an analogue of the cosmos. In this way we try to get a feeling for the whole. The artist, I suppose, gets a feeling for the whole some other way.”
