Check It Out
The fourth and fifth of August is a national holiday in El Salvador where many people vacation at lake Coatepeque. One of the most interesting festivals in Central America takes place every year around these dates, this year it will be Friday August 3rd. Six quality DJs from three continents will showcase the latest in electronic dance music.
Hailing from Germany will be trance star Dj Shah. Dj Kelli and DJ Dutch of Thumpradio will come from San Francisco, Dj Yoyo from Venezuela, Edgar Pinzon who played alongside Kelli during the first Coal Tepec back in 2003 will join us from Guatemala, and finally but certainly not least, Dj FerK will represent El Salvador among the DJs.
The venue will be at the same spot, Carnitas Michel, which has a beautiful view to the mountains, the lake and the island. Last year the party featured The Thrillseekers from the UK as well as Pepa from Panama.
Tickets are $20 and points of sale will be announced soon. Camping is an additional $5 from 9AM on the 3rd to 9AM on the 4th. Part of the proceeds will go to Fundacion Coatepeque, an ecological NGO dedicated to safeguarding the communities and natural resources around Coatepeque which Coal Tepec has supported for the past three years.
One of the coolest features of this year’s festival will be the "CLARO iLounge". Thanks to our telecommunications partner and main sponsor, Claro, there will be high speed internet available as well as ways of downloading music from our DJs onto telephones. Attendees will get the added benefit of leaving the party with a fresh track or DJ set from our lineup of talented DJs.
Information will soon be released regarding accommodations for people visiting from other countries. Stay tuned for more info about Coal Tepec 2007.
