Funk D'Void's recent productions..

I like his sound but the style is getting somewhat repetitive lately, imo. Don't get me wrong- I love his productions, i recently saw him play out live and his DJing was amazing, but i think he uses too much of the same sounding elements in a lot of his recent tracks (mainly under his francois dubois alias).

what's your opinions?

You can never have too much of a good thing. Yeah he's been a bit samey lately, but I love his sound.

meh, i'd just hate to see him get the same sort of backlash that other producers like prydz has gotten for having too "samey" of a sound

nothing straight up "the same" but a lot of his productions have the same musical ideas in it- big warm pads with offbeat keyboard stabs.. i know, kind of a vague definition.

onionz - woman of the sun (francois dubois remix)
nacho marco - wench (francois dubois remix)
rocco - roots 4 acid (francois dubois remix)
francois dubois - blood (not as much so, but still somewhat similar)

not to mention that he recycled a sample in funk d'void - to ya waistline and rocco - roots 4 acid (francois dubois remix)..

actually now that i listen to the funk d'void alias i guess he does really diversify in that respect. /thread

Lovin (Your Body Mix) is one of the tracks i've listened to the most this year i think, it's so deep, soulful and fresh, i can't get enough of it. I'm also really into the Onionz - Woman Of The Sun remix right now.

the woman of the sun remix is a lot different, but you're right the other francois dubois remixes sound very similar.

the only one that i feel suffers from it (if you can call it that) though is the wench remix. it sounds rather like the roots 4 acid remix.

i love the francois dubois sound but i wish he would move forward with it a bit.

Maybe the recent Francois Dubois tunes sound sort of similar - but even then, if you look at the whole of the Francois Dubois discography, there's a LOT of diversity. Latin Jack, No Witness, Dark Angel, and Fembot sound absolutely nothing like any of the Dubois productions you've listed - and the Funk D'Void alias is in general pretty diverse.

To be honest, I don't even think the three you listed are altogether that similar.
