I am looking for some suggestions on different venues which would be suitable to host a large edm event....
Lets remove all of the usual suspects from the equation: Guv complex, docks, dragonfly, footwork, zone.
Obviously need it to be in a location people would travel to, decent sound system, and ideally have some decent dates available.
Any preferences?

How big?
Take EDM to ACC, Roger's Centre, BMO or Downsview.
DO IT.

If you're talking about a weekend.... there is no space that matches that description that already has a soundsystem, let alone a decent sound system. Only places I can think of charge a rental fee if you don't know them, and you will need to spend between 300-2500 on sound to bring it up to par.
as well, most larger event spaces freak when you say late night, DJ and Dance music. they think "Rave" and want nothing to do with it.

Hypothetical:
Say one wanted to throw an open air concert at BMO Field. For some reason I feel like that would fly, since soccer fans typically have been exposed to EDM and therefore the management would not automatically conclude that it will be a rave.
Yay or nay?
