that's why it's hard for me to get into football. It seems like no one is devoted to a specific team. Even worse, it seems like football is the one sport where it's okay to like a team that plays 1500 miles from your home. As an example, why the fuck are natives of NY and NJ liking teams like Dallas, washington, and pittsburg? That shit just doesn't happen in baseball. I don't know anyone from my town that likes the friggin LA Angels or the Detroit Tigers.
Further, it seems like people don't even give a fuck if their team wins, as long as the point spread holds, or their fantasy players have a good week. Football is the worst sport as far as devotion. It's popularity is fully attributable to fantasy leagues and gambling. I have no problem with that, but the NFL is certainly not the most popular league in terms of numbers of 'true fans'.
