PROTOCULTURE LIVE!
NANO RECORDS
CAPTOWN /SOUTH AFRICA
WWW.NANORECORDS.CO.UK
1st appearance in Canada!!!
+ DJ NATE RAUBENHEIMER aka Protoculture and Atomic Culture
Nano records / BNE(Israel)
South Africa
Nate Raubenheimer started out his music career at the tender age of seven when he received his first electronic keyboard. He went on to discover jazz and classical music before becoming obsessed with synthesizers, computers and electronic music. His musical explorations have taken him through many different styles of music including breaks, house and electro.
After finishing school, he went on to study sound engineering before finding his niche in the psytrance scene. He was first introduced to the music by Regan and Gareth Tacon, currently co-owners of Nano Records. Before ever attending a party he wrote his first single, "superhighway samurai" which was released on Mechanism, a compilation by Sweden's Spiral Trax Label Group. His sound was instantly recognizable as his signature style, a blend of full on grooves, progressive structures, and epic "morning" melodies. This sound was refined over the next year, with his signing to Nano Records and the subsequent release of numerous tracks such as "Synergism" and "Ultraphunktional". The release of "New Directions" on Nano Record's Dilations compilation was a turning point for Nate. This can still be regarded as his most celebrated track to date, and received much acclaim worldwide.
The debut album, Refractions, followed closely afterwards, featuring dance floor success's such as "Melody Machine", ":Avalon", and a remix of the afore mentioned "New Directions". With the success of the album, Nate's career as a live performer and dj, took off at great speed. After numerous parties in South Africa, he first headed off to England for the acclaimed Glastonbury Music Festival. This festival plays host to hundreds of acts and draws crowds in excess of 150 000 people every year. Gigs in Japan followed, as well as extensive tours in Europe, including France, Spain, Holland, Germany, Portugal, Denmark and others. To date he has played on every major continent, and received much praise for his energetic and emotional live shows.
Nate has also worked on other projects including his dj compilation, "Natural Selection" on Nano Records, as well as Ghost, a side project focusing on breaks and ambient, as well as forming half of the now defunct Silver Surfers. His releases can be seen on many labels including Mind Control, Phonokol, Alchemy, Exposure, Compakt, Proton, Light Music Japan, Turbo Trance and others. Further collaborations include work with Tristan, Hydrophonic, Pogo, and Rinkadink, as well as remixes for Silicon Sounds, Sesto Sento and D-Nox and Beckers, amongst many others.
His new project with Atomic Pulse is a new one and will be a blast on the dance floor with their first upcoming album who will be relaese next september on the major label from Israel: BNE records. the same that Infected Mushroom!

Tegma live! + DJ SET!
Tribal Vision records
Sweden
http://www.myspace.com/tegma
Behind the music of Tegma is Omar Chelly and Jason Orfanidis, both born and bred in Swedish town Malmoe.
So what’s the story behind this successful trance project? Omar and Jason have been friends since childhood, with a friendship that goes back to their fathers it was only natural that the two would sooner or later create such a thing as music together. The story begins in 1996 when Omar moved back to Malmoe after having lived a couple of years outside of Sweden and also in Gothenburg.
By the time Omar moved back, he found that Jason had discovered something called Psychedelic Trance. With Greek origins, Jason spends every summer in Greece and that’s where he got in touch with trance, a close friend and relative, Alexis, introduced him to this new genre of electronic music; Psychedelic Trance. This was in 1994 and Jason went into addiction directly, starting to collect vinyl and playing as a dj at small parties and co-assisting his cousin at a radio show called Danceswitch which was broadcasted on a station in Athens. However this was mainly for fun and Jason didn’t consider picking up dj’ing or producing seriously.
However for Omar, this music didn’t seem too much interesting, he was more into hip-hop and world music. Although he had been listening to some electronica like Jean Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk and Vangelis it was a bit hard to swallow. Later on , at the end of 1997, Jason forgot some cd’s at Omar’s house, and he put them on just to give it a try as Jason was insisting that this is THE music to listen and party to. Slowly, slowly Omar also got bitten by the psychedelic grooves. After a year, in the end of the year 1998, Omar got hold of the program Reason and started experimenting with it. This later resulted in their first common project called Epsilon, which Omar and Jason describes as “lousy, crappy melodic psytrance” Thankfully none of the songs of the Epsilon project never got a chance to get out to any larger crowds…
After a year of messing around with Reason , and learning the basics from it they both agreed that they wanted to go deeper into producing music and they decided it was time to buy some hardware to expand the system. They first bought the Yamaha Rm1x and later on a Novation Nova, with these two and a simple pc running Cubase they continued producing under the Epsilon name for a couple of months. However in the beginning of 2000 they instantly fell in love with the new wave of progressive and minimal psytrance and felt that this was the thing they were looking for. So the result was the death of Epsilon and the birth of Tegma!
In June 2000, Omar and Jason produced their first 3-track demo and sent it out to a couple of labels, with positive feedback and a signing of one of the tracks, things started to look good for Tegma and this resulted in more hard work…Adding the fact that they performed their live act in many parts of the world , far places such as Japan, Brazil and Mexico among many others…The Tegma boys also tried to make some other projects, with their Homer N Lazon project they had some releases in the U.K., and Omar also producing his solo project O’Chelly with a couple of releases on some cd compilations. Jason also picked up his dj’ing again and has played many times along the Tegma live set and also on a couple of occasions on his own...
Since then they have released more than 40 tracks on cd compilations and vinyls of various labels and also three full-length albums, Encoded/Decoded (Digital Structures 2002), 002: Avantgarde (Candyflip Records 2005) and recent Around the World in 80 Minutes on Tribal Vision Records. Their next album called Lo-Fi Adventures is scheduled for November 2007.

NEWS:: ECLIPSE FESTIVAL 2007::::
Elfintome visionary arts and culture presents a gallery and tribal market featuring
Luke Brown
(elphinstone, BC) www.spectraleyes.com
Luke Brown is an intrepid explorer for whom mystical experiences, dreams, medicine journeys, and channeled lucid dialogues with the source of creativity itself seem to guide and be guided by the colourful symetries and living surfaces of his art. He is intent on mapping his hyperspacial experiences with utmost accuracy, with whichever medium is best suited, as a form of multidimensional cartography.
St. Even
(Vancouver BC) : www.divinereflections.ca
St. Even joined the visionary art community in 2005 with his series of divine reflections, a body of work he describes as visionary portraiture for visionary people. In two years the series has grown to over 80 pieces, each a portrait that reflects an individual within the underground dance community, honoring their essence as a work of art. His works have shown nationally and internationally in solo and group exhibitions and at numerous festivals.
Guy Atchison
(Marion, IL) : www.hyperspacestudios.com
I believe that there exists a family of archetypal forms, non-iconographic images which nonetheless convey their meaning to the viewer simply & directly, at a level possibly deeper and more universal than that accessible through the use of cultural iconography, and whether or not these universal images can be captured in their naked form and rendered as art pieces remains the single largest question in my life
Victor Olenov
(San Francisco, CA) : www.arthealing.org
To the mind of Victor Olenov, the visionary artist has the power and the responsibility to create images that will reflect our true godhead essence thus triggering self healing and self regeneration. Olenov sees the visionary artist as a galactik scout, set to find images to trigger visions that will feed the flame of creation, nourish the spirit of humanity and revise the description of reality, bringing us into deepened resonance with all of nature.
David Heskin
(Seattle, WA) : www.newskinstudio.com
Honouring the essence of inspirimentation through an ever expanding skillset of creative mediums... every moment realized as a moment of art! Being a brush held by the divine hand, David Heskin is willingly devoured and possessed by the infinite possibilities of an ecstatic, co:inspired dreamscape in which creativity is key.
