Read This! GOA and PSY trance are different

I always figure there is and i know there is some controversy over this. But from what i understand GOA feels more organic and PSY more metallic.I'm looking for GOA influenced tracks that have been released lately.Any suggestions?

Goa's a hippy vacation spot in India where this type of music sort of crawled out of a few electronic musical influences as a genre in of itself at the raves there at Goa and the artists came from all over the place.
It's not so much the actual melody and structure of a Goa track and a more contemporary Psy track are all that much different, both are fairly fast paced, hypnotic and very rarely vox based apart from a couple of samples once in awhile.
What is different is the technology.
All the Goa stuff is made on early 1990's gear, some of it analogue, some digital-analogue and fairly much all of it hardware based.
Come the late 90s when Psy sort of evolved from that Goa sound you're getting a lot more into software based music construction and away from the studio hardware which lends itself to creating a different sound. I mean you just have to look at the technology curve, in 1992 the computers where still 8 or 16bit and come around late 90's, most of the IBM and Mac stuff is all 32 or more. So samples sound clearer, broader range of sound and technological capability to do a lot more with it. It's not so much the music has changed, the way it's made has changed.
Well that's my (probably open to being wrong) interpretation of it.

i think of some psy trance as being reliant on sounding trippy and out there for the sake of it and using the same old samples from sci fi movies and speeches about drugs whereas goa seems to have a bigger focus on melodies? i dunno thats just my take.

I've been told, and tell people.

Goa = melody influenced, with less kick/bassline influence than psytrance and more emphasis on a clever melody, maybe a nice acid line, and so forth. examples of which include MWNN, Doof & so on.

Psytrance has more the samey kick/bassline and tries to use tricks in many cases, sometimes it works, often it doesn't, to twist and turn around your head. While there are good melodies, they're not as much at the forefront of the tracks like in goa.

You're completely leaving out the aspect of composition, in which the key characterstics of goa trance lie. It's not like people stopped writing melodies in the modes associated with goa trance just because they got a new computer.
