I shooted some photos with my camera and when I decided to change the file format with: "ACD See", the file size was reduced but less than what I expected...I didn't know why this was happenning... And then I realized it was due to the Quality Compression... So the question would be... What's the best quality compression for digital camera photos? 60%? 70%? 40%? 50%?.Coz the default value is 89%,so everytime I try to change the file format to .jpg the file size is reduce only some Kb's!!!...

well first thing you need to do is take the shooted photos and judge for yourself how much you want to compress the photo. In general the more you compress it the more the quality will go down. So it really all depends how much quality you are willing to sacrifice in order to reduce your file sizes.

what i mean is what would be the standard value...I asked this coz I really don't know about this... JeJe...Well I try know with 60%... And see what happens...

There is no one compression is ok for all setting.


It depends if you want to email them and post online, or just archive.


It is always better to keep the original files intact without changing the compression because there is NO going back.
For the pictures you want to email etc compress them but that's it don't touch your other pictures.
