Last Friday after work I headed down to See Markus At Belo. With one bathroom break and a dead BBQ on the highway Christine and I made it To Belo just in time to make the guest list cut off.

We walk into Belo and main dance floor is DEAD! Hyper was also Wack. So we finished our Drinks and decided to go On Broadway to see BT. Figuring by the time he was off Markus would have just started.


We walk to On Broadway and the bouncer told us the guest list was closed and they closed it at 11:30 and told us to go to the GA side. I look at my cell and it was only 11:38. Since it was only us girls and we drove from La.. I tried to work my girlie magic. Still no luck.

As we where walking away a group of people came into the line and the same bouncer stopped us and ended the line at us. He gave us a card and we walked in.

Figuring we had to pay we had our cash and C.c. ready and gave the lady our card. She tells us to show us our wrist and we where in. We scored a FREE CARD in woot woot.

I enjoyed Cowboy Mikes set and BT's set as well. After BT we walked back to Belo and Markus was going into his second track. But a little bit before 3 the lights came on!!! It felt like we just got there!!!!!!!

Oh well still a lot of fun non the less

The scene in SD is different but not in a good way IMO....A while ago when I asked Cristine if she was on TA she had a puzzled look on her face and said "huh?"

as far as san diego, for MY experience on broadway was the worst clubbing experience i've ever had!!! went to see benny bennasi and we had to leave 30 minutes in, the rudest crowd EVER!!!! i mean worse than TAO in vegas for morillo.

belo isn't as bad and i had fun when i went to see sasha there and i thought for sure there would be issues just b/c well, it was sasha and he can bring out some interesting folks but it was cool. although they have that damn hip hop room and there seems to be a fight there the last few times i went.

oh well, what do you do? no club is perfect

You will hate the SD scene. MUCH worse than LA. Just dumb drunk college students who know nothing about the music. Rude and annoying crowd

Each club as there good points and bad points.

I like the more intimate feel to Belo. The Dj is closer to the crowd and the VIP is in the back of the club.
The People at Belo seem to know more about the Dj then wanting to just be there.
Belo is more relaxed when it comes to dress codes. And the Drinks are pretty cheep. and you get them pretty fast

When it comes too On Broadway I like the fact that the hip-hop room is down stairs and away from the EDM people.

SD and LA are totally different scenes. IMO and I say IMO.. most people who go out in SD do not go out b/c of the music or the dj.. they go out just to well.. go out and to be at a cool hip club. When they do go out it is all about what they wear and who made it( like the Hollywood La hip/hop scene) And in SD most clubs end at 2am! They turn on the lights at 1:45 to make sure everyone is out by 2. Makeing Belo and "afterhours"
I have met some cool people from SD.. but in most cases most of the people are out ride RUDE! They push and walk threw you like you are not even there.

The one thing I do like about SD is the whole in and out thing at clubs. Why can't clubs do that in La????

BELO - Has a V20/Club Vegas feel to it (the venue at least) but I think Belo is waaaaaaaaaay better. I know people on TA are very particular when it comes to EDM venues, but for the venue, and the crowd, it's pretty good.


ON BROADWAY - As my friend Gina was describing Priviledge in Ibiza, even though a club maybe big as hell.. it can still be pretty crappy... ON BROADWAY is big.. I give it that.. but the people, the drinks and the system were soooooooo crappy. I don't care if there are 4-5 rooms.. it still was a crappy venue. My drinks tasted like water and the price is about the same as Hollywood Clubs. I went last time and it seemed like they hold the line for guestlist (worse than most clubs I've been to). The sound system was so bad the night I went.. it kept going in and out. The crowd reminded me of the HIGHLANDS crowd.. some stuck up people who LOOK LIKE they should be the last ones to act like they are stuck up. I found better VIBES at clubs off LA CIENEGA (and that's like snobby clubs row!)

I think that both clubs have pros and cons:

On Broadway pros:large club, great lighting, and I like the sound system
Cons: rude people, who have no idea which DJ is playing ie. I heard several people confuse Eddie Halliwell for Tiesto and expensive ass drinks!!!!

Belo pros: Much closer to DJ's everyone is more relaxed (dress code wise) than on broadway.
cons: Smells like a backed up drain, hip hop room too close to EDM room, and fights, thats one thing I hate about Belo, people should just try to have a good time and chill out.

I heard Belo is really hot and the sound was not all that and in fact it did smell like shit and heard On Broadway was better climate wise and a much better venue over all.

I can vouch, just last Friday for Markus' performance, the music kept going on and off for like the first 5-10 min of his set, and the stench was horrible!!!
But Markus killed it, so it was worth it!!!
