Wintermute (Psy/techno/Industrial) PRIMER (Dark Ambient Psy/Goa)
Wintermute Mix
...aka
'My neighbours think I sell drugs'
mix
I got bored lately stuck inside because it's too cold to go outside for the last few weeks, so I started fiddling around with mixing again.
It's very bleak, cold and fast, lot of tracks missing I really wanted to throw in there and couldn't seem to get working, but I think it's got more or less the sound I wanted. Sort of a dark acid-techno/Industrial/Psy, heck for awhile I thought about dropping a few Terrorcore tracks on the end of it and they would have fitted in, but my ears where hurting enough... and probably dark and murderous enough to scare the average trance fan into crying as it is.
I gave up long ago sticking 'genres as a label' on my mixes and I gave up caring about sticking to one genre of electronic music.
It just is.

This was a very hard mix to do and I'm still undecided on how much I like it in terms of flow, it does have a very distinctive feel and sound to it though, which I like.
But find a nightmare to actually cobble together, especially with it being also comparatively long and it can be difficult to actually keep interesting to anyone listening without it turning into a blur of 147bpm hard sounding electronic drums, bass and freaky noises
Hotaka and Promised Land are two tracks I've wanted to use for quite some time though, completely different sounds though, one's a heavy, organic grind and the other's a harsh, electronic rollercoaster.
