Political Movies

You know purple gave me an idea :

What is your favorite political/historical movie. Not a Docu or docu wanna be like Micheal Moore shite, but just as an entertaining value....one that made ya go out and look up the FACTS,

Mine is The Hunt for the Red October.....

subs, political, action and the fact that I heard while in the navy, that they almost lost the Dallas on that movie; when they did the emergency blow shot....

and plus how I miss the cold war it was so much simpler back then...

Thats why its my #1 for fiction ;-) non-fiction - different story, though Traffic is still in my top 10 movies of all-time list. Excellent movie that opened my eyes quite well.

LOL, awesome! Fits you well, I guess. I dont watch much TV or fiction, so I had a good laugh out of it. I guess you work for MI5 as well, someone with such intricate understanding of Middle East politics has to be you gotta be some sort of spy, a Polish spy?

Nah if it were cos of the Middle East it'd be MI6!

John Le Carre is my favourite author and as his books are all political thought it'd be fitting to have my screen name as his most famous character! If you like your Cold War thrillers then John Le Carre's earlier stuff is a gold mine! (He was the guy that wrote A Constant Gardner) Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and Smiley's people are the first and third books in his Karla Trilogy where Smiley battles behind the scenes with his arch enemy in the Russian KGB (and these books got made into excellent mini-series by the BBC - definately reccommend if you're interested in Cold War espionage!)

Aaaaa, my mistake, you are definitely right about that. And I guess you're definitely a spy then!

Well, I am not much into fiction books, only movies, I have too many non-fiction books to read. Need to catch up to your levels of Middle East know-how, I haven't been following that theatre much lately.

Though when I was really young, I enjoyed reading Sherlock Holmes stuff, hehe ;-) detectives ...

When I do read fiction books, its mainly about amazing past civilizations and their advances and cities (example: Lemuria, Atlantis), lost ruins, past lives, etc. and aliens.

As to the topic - anyone has any recommendations on recent great fiction political movies or new releases?
