50 Cent actually jacked his name from some other guy from NY that went by 50 Cent in the late 80's and early 90's. The guy used to go to clubs and parties with celebs and well known rap artists, with guns, and jack them. Apparantly he survived several gunshot wounds before finally succombing to a a shooting.
